The best part was the cozy library atmosphere. It was like a world of books. The wine and cheese hour was a good treat! The room was a bit small, but overall, a lovely stay 📚

Clean and comfortable rooms - well air conditioned. The breakfast included in the rate was very good. The cheese and wine afternoon tea was also excellent and a great way to meet the different guests in the hotel. It is well located for all the sights of New York. The staff were able to make good dinner recommendations and never failed to impress.

Besides, the location was super and unrivalled for our stay, within 15 minutes' walk of a multinational department store chain. The hotel was in a great area, next to museums and the UN, the wonderful wine bar, and the national Library. The breakfast was enjoyable and absolutely fantastic for early risers, delicious food.

the staff were excellent and the hotel itself was great
on the day we left, we were hanging about on the second floor and found it difficult to locate a toilet

The personal touch the hotel showed us was very noticeable and appreciated, nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly and accommodating.I Loved the library themed approach and it was minimal a more sophisticated feel rather than a 'theme park approach' that I was concerned about. The location is excellent , the breakfast was fresh, varied and appetising and the afternoon refreshments is a lovely welcomed touch. It was our 10th wedding anniversary and they congratulated on us on arrival but a small token 'cocktail' or the like would have been the icing of the cake ( some hotels do but never mind.... That's the only thing I would say ) . I would highly recommend this hotel to couples or business, but I expect it would be quite expensive for families. I would return here again without a doubt if I ever find myself in New York again. Thank You for contributing to my wonderful New York experience !.
Coming from the uk I am a tea drinker and the refreshment room only facilitated flask hot water and over time this went luke warm. Even though it was no trouble for them to give me boiling water I did have to ask and wait; I do think it would save them time and give immediate customer satisfaction if it was available via the coffee machine; this is a minor matter and it didn't spoil the holiday at all.

Availability of coffee and refreshments all day and night, separate area to relax, interesting decor and good showers.
Beds were a bit narrow, systems need a bit of work (failed wake up call and staff did not know how to charge a round of drinks onto the room). No room service menu in rooms - even though room service is done.

The hotel is located at intersection of 41st and Madison Ave. This part of the city is very busy even at night. Unfortunately, the windows even when tightly closed cannot prevent you from disturbing city noise. This noise is so loud that you barely can sleep even if just made transoceanic flight. That’s real disadvantage of this hotel. Otherwise, especially the staff is very friendly bit this problem with the noise the staff definitely cannot cure.

They offer functional, fashionable rooms with stunning views across to the Library and newspapers, for instance. The breakfast variety is substantial with toast and delicious bagels, for example, excellent service. The staff is excellent, amiable.

The complimentary breakfast was solid, and we loved the cozy Reading Room for snacks and drinks. We visited Bryant Park and spent time in the Poetry Garden, relaxing. The staff, and the location was super convenient for getting around.
The bar and lounge were closed for private events a few days, disappointing since we expected to relax there.
